Gameplay overview:

  • Games will be played 7v7 with 6 outfield players and one goalkeeper

  • Standard US soccer rules will apply aside from our own variations

  • Although games may be filmed, there will be no use of VAR

  • There is no offside

  • Substitutions will be on the fly

  • When subbing, the player being subbed must be completely off the pitch before the substitute may enter

  • Unlimited substitutions and unlimited re-entries

  • Penalties in both shootouts and standard play will be taken hockey style. They will be in the form of a 1v1 with the goalkeeper. The shooter will have unlimited touches and time to score, but he cannot travel backwards at any point in the kick or it will count as a miss and the ball will be given to the defending team. The player who gets fouled must be the one to take the kick unless he is injured and must be substituted. For a handball offense any player on the attacking team may take the kick.

Card System:

  • There will be three different types of cards issued: yellow, blue, and red

  • Yellow cards: yellow cards will be awarded for the same offenses as standard US soccer rules

  • Blue cards: two yellow cards or a DOGSO (denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity) will result in a blue card. A blue card results in a 3 minute penalty for the offender and the team must play down a man. If the opposing team scores in those three minutes, the team may replace the blue carded player to even the numbers, but the offender may not re-enter until their three minutes has been served.

  • Red Cards: Three yellow cards or a Blue and a Yellow card will result in a red card. In the case of a red card the player will be ejected and their team must play the remainder of the game down a player. Straight red card offenses remain the same as standard US soccer rules with the exception of DOGSO offenses

  • Only straight red card offenses will result in a one game suspension for the player.

  • All other divisions will consist of two groups of four and the top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage

  • A win will result in three points and a loss zero. In the event of a tie the teams will compete in a penalty shootout where the winning team will earn two points and the losing team will earn one point

  • Group stage tiebreakers will be decided by the head to head result of the two teams

  • If 3-4 teams are tied in the group stage the tiebreaker will be decided in the following order:
